Magic Tag® technology combines two significant advances in chemical genomics.

Photoimmobilisation
Conventional approaches to immobilisation are laborious, time consuming and often specific to the molecule to be immobilised. Because conventional approaches require functional groups, there is no guarantee that the orientation of the immobilised molecule is "biologically relevant" to the proteins to which it binds.

a2sp has developed a suite of 5, highly reactive, photo-activated chemistries that address these issues. By combining multiple chemistries and high reactivity, molecules are quickly and easily immobilised in a range of different orientations, significantly increasing the chance that biologically relevant orientations are displayed.

Phage Display Proteomics
Traditional proteomics require highly expensive and specialist equipment and are dependent on absolute expression levels of target proteins making it difficult to identify interactions with rare targets.

a2sp applies an existing, commercially validated phage display technology to proteomics screening which enables rapid, robust and non-specialist screening of immobilised molecules against human organ and tissue libraries and other proteomes and which includes amplification of rare proteins.
